Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. It's been a busy week for me too, as I hung 60 plus pieces of new art in our Blue Plate Cafe and Gallery located at 5469 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119, 901-761-9696. As I finished hanging, one thing was very clear, I love color especially red and yellow.

Another project I'm working on is for the Memphis Humane Society. Many local artists were sponsored to paint 4 foot fiberglass dogs as a fund raiser for the MHS. I was lucky to have two sponsors and to see my finished designs, see "3 D" art on my website. We are planning on "The Guardian" going to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital for 3 months and "The Heart of a Tiger" will spend his three months at Morgan Stanley on White Station RD. There is a reception, July 10th from 6:30 -8:00 p.m. at the Humane Society on Farm Rd., but the first official unveiling will be at Redbird Stadium this July 13th. There are also plans for a coffee table book of the dogs and artists as they are showcased around town. In November the dogs will be auctioned off to the highest bidder with all proceeds going to Memphis Humane Society.
